Monterrey Mexico...
World Class Orthopedic
Surgery
Facility
We are a health system in
Mexico. As part of U.S.-based
CHRISTUS Health,
we work every day to provide our patients with
excellent health care, through state-of-the-art
technology and procedures performed by our
qualified medical staff, who are committed to
serving each patient as a whole human being.

The CHRISTUS MUGUERZA® in
Monterey Mexico, is the first hospital in Mexico
to receive accreditation from the Joint
Commission Accreditation, meeting the highest
international standards for quality and safety
in healthcare services.
We feel strongly that our services have an
advantage because of the close proximity of many
of our facilities to the U.S./Mexico border, our
Associates’ fluency in English and other
languages, and our ability to provide
appropriate recovery locations such as upscale
hotels and retreat centers.
In addition, a Global Surgical Network program allows for more
collaboration both ways across the border. For
instance, if we have a pediatric patient at a
CHRISTUS Muguerza facility in Monterrey, Mexico
who needs specialty care, we have the ability to
refer them to our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Children’s
Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Since 2001, the Group has been affiliated with
CHRISTUS Health, a faith-based, non-profit
health system based in Dallas that is comprised
of 40 hospitals, inpatient and long-term care
facilities as well as dozens of clinics,
physician offices and healthcare services in
more than 70 cities in North America.
General Orthopedic procedures
Orthopedic conditions such as carpal tunnel
syndrome, knee and hip problems, arthritis, and
sports injuries e.g., tennis elbow or rotator
cuff surgery are treated by orthopedic
surgeries. The health and healing of bone and
joint injuries as well as those caused by
ligament, tendon, or nerve damage are cured by
orthopedics care.
Orthopedic
surgeries promote the health and healing of bone
and joint needs associated with a wide variety
of orthopedic conditions such as carpal tunnel
syndrome, knee and hip problems, arthritis, and
sports injuries such as tennis elbow or rotator
cuff surgery. The scope of orthopedic
specialties enables treatment of joint injuries
as well as those caused by ligament, tendon, or
nerve damage.
CHRISTUS MUGUERZA® has established
itself throughout its 70-year history as one of
the foremost private medical institutions in
Mexico, and is part of CHRISTUS Health, a
Catholic, faith-based health system. To this
end, it offers total respect and openness
towards all religions and creeds. The Mission of
CHRISTUS MUGUERZA® is to extend the healing
ministry of Jesus Christ, a principle it
embraces on a daily basis through compassionate
service and by applying technical and
professional standards that are on par with the
leading hospitals of the world. Additionally,
this Mission has led MUGUERZA® to
offer and support quality medical services for
underprivileged communities. The values that
distinguish CHRISTUS MUGUERZA® are dignity,
integrity, excellence, compassion and
stewardship.
Since
2001, CHRISTUS MUGUERZA® has been affiliated
with CHRISTUS Health a faith-based, non-profit
health system comprised of more than 50
hospitals and long-term care facilities, 175
clinics and outpatient centers and dozens of
other health ministries and ventures. The
partnership of these groups has led to the rapid
expansion of the CHRISTUS MUGUERZA®, making it
the second-largest health care system in Mexico
today with a strong commitment to innovative
technology, medical safety and quality at an
international level.
Procedures:
Total hip replacement:
Hip replacement, also hip arthroplasty, is a
surgical procedure in which the hip joint is
replaced by a prosthetic implant. Such joint
replacement orthopaedic surgery generally is
conducted to relieve arthritis pain or fix
severe physical joint damage as part of the hip
fracture treatment.
Total
knee replacement:
Knee replacement, or knee arthroplasty, is a
common operation done to relieve the pain and
disability from degenerative arthritis, most
commonly osteoarthritis, but other arthritides
as well. It consists of replacing the diseased
and painful joint surfaces of the knee with
metal and plastic components shaped to allow
continued motion of the knee.
The Rotator
Cuff
muscles are those muscles that surround the
shoulder joint. Their job is to provide the
power to lift and rotate the arm. As one ages
these muscles become thinner and are prone to
rupture, sometimes with minimal trauma.
A bunion
(hallux valgus) is an enlargement of bone or
tissue around the joint at the base of the big
toe (metatarsophalangeal joint) that causes a
bump on your big toe joint. The big toe may turn
toward the second toe (displacement), and the
tissues surrounding the joint may be swollen and
tender.
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) or Median
Neuropathy at the Wrist is a medical condition
in which the median nerve is compressed at the
wrist, leading to pain, and muscle weakness in
the forearm and hand. During open carpal tunnel
release surgery, the transverse carpal ligament
is cut, which releases pressure on the median
nerve and relieves the symptoms of carpal tunnel
syndrome.
ACL Repair:
The anterior cruciate ligament (or ACL) is one
of the four major ligaments of the knee. The ACL
is often torn during sudden dislocation, tortion,
or hyperextension of the knee. It is a very
common injury in football, hockey, skiing,
skating and basketball, due to the enormous
amount of pressure, weight and number of blows
the knee must withstand. Surgery for anterior
cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries involves
reconstructing or repairing the ACL.
Meniscectomy
is
the surgical removal of all or part of a torn
meniscus. A meniscus tear is a common knee joint
injury. Orthopedic surgeons will make surgical
decisions based on the meniscus's ability to
heal, as well as your age, health, and activity
level. (Source: WebMD.com) This procedure is
done by arthroscopy, a minimally invasive
surgical procedure in which an examination and
sometimes treatment of damage of the interior of
a joint is performed using an arthroscope, a
type of endoscope that is inserted into the
joint through a small incision. Surgeons view
the joint area on a video monitor, and can
diagnose and repair torn joint tissue, such as
ligaments and menisci.
